The club is currently closed for all rugby activities and therefore all of our pitches and the Invesco Turf are closed until further notice in accordance with government guidelines covering sports facilities and clubs. It is essential these facilities are not used due to safety, insurance and potential fine implications from our local authority.
The Rugby Football Union (RFU) has advised that we now revert to Stage A of the RFU Return to Rugby Roadmap – please refer to copy attached below.
However, from Sunday 10th January we will be restarting our Kids First & Junior programme of fitness and skills sessions online. Please see further updates via the Clubs social media channels and via the Henley RFC – Kids First & Juniors Facebook page.
We have been advised by the RFU that all previously scheduled male and female cluster competitions based on RFU Leagues for Spring 2021 are cancelled. This includes previously arranged matches for Henley Hawks Women and Henley Vikings.
A further meeting of the National Clubs Association (NCA) Executive will take place on 14 January to discuss the proposed NCA Cup and we will share a further update following this meeting. However, we continue with our plans for the 2021/2022 season.
Across the club we are now working on plans to turn the club into a summer rugby destination for all age group where possible and for our senior adult male and female players via a variety of training sessions and Touch Rugby. Further details will follow over the next few weeks.
Mental Health and Wellbeing Support
We now find ourselves in Lockdown 3 and clearly we will our face various challenges. The club via the RFU is linked to MIND (one of the leading mental health charities in England) for mental health and wellbeing support. Support is available via 0300 123 3393 or firstname.lastname@example.org and provides support to players, parents, coaches and immediate family members. Further details are available via: https://www.englandrugby.com/participation/playing/player-welfare-rugby-safe/mental-health-and-wellbeing
In terms of our partners based at Dry Leas:
Love Fitness Gym - https://www.lovefitnessgym.co.uk/ is also now closed.
Physiolistic - https://www.physiolistic.co.uk/ remains open as usual.
Menza Café - https://www.themenza.co.uk/ is operating a takeaway service Tuesday to Saturday 10:00am to 2:00pm
We continue to operate aspects of the club with our key partners in accordance with government guidelines. The situation will be under regular review and we will keep you updated once further guidance is received from the government and RFU.
We will look to return to rugby activities in a very safe way for all our players, coaches, parents and very importantly, the wider community.
