Trojans 5-22 Hawks Women

The Hawks Women travelled down to take on an old foe in Trojans on Sunday. This time it was just for the first pre-season friendly in 2 years enjoyed by a squad of 30 on the day. With four 20-minute quarters everyone received game time and a chance to put all their hard work into practice. It also allowed for new combinations to be tested and the chance to see plenty of debutants in Hawks colours. They didn’t not disappoint and will be a welcome addition as we look to build the overall squad to play 2nd team fixtures this year too.

Despite the national women’s programme being put back 3 weeks, the sun was out and meant for a hard day at the office. The overall pace Henley had allowed for plenty of breaks and opportunities, three of which were deemed held up. The scoring was opened up with Sam Page, conversation through Gen Moody. Other scores came through Lini Kaufana and 2 from Charlie Murray.

In the final play of the game Trojans rumbled over and meant the game finished 22-5 to the Hawks. A good performance across the board, with the forward of the match going to Ellie Smales and back to Charlie Murray, both making their debut.

This Sunday the team travel to Sunbury to take on London Irish in a similar format. KO is 3pm at their Hazelwood centre. The full address is;
