Henley Hawks Women 26-20 Old Albanian Saints

In a thrilling rugby encounter, Henley emerged victorious over Old Albanian with a hard-fought 26-20 win at Dry Leas on Sunday afternoon. 

The match showcased the epitome of grit and determination from every player on the field, as both sides left everything on the pitch.

It was a tough contest from the outset, with Old Albanian taking an early ten point lead. However, it was Henley's resolute defense that ultimately proved to be the difference, shutting Old Albanian's out in the later stages of the game and denying them crucial scoring opportunities.

Credit must be given to both teams for the attacking flair displayed throughout the match. Try-scoring opportunities were seized with precision, showcasing the skill and athleticism of the players involved.

Henley are now sat in 4th position in the Championship with 4 games left to play this season, with Old Albanian now sitting in 2nd after the loss to Henley. Both teams will push on for the remainder of the season to compete for number one spot.

Henley's victory was secured with tries from Claudia Obst (2), Gen Moody and Sophie Shams, each demonstrating individual brilliance to breach the OA defence. Their collective effort and unwavering commitment propelled Henley to a well-deserved triumph in what was an enthralling spectacle of rugby. Henley will now take a week's break before they make the journey to the west country to face Bath ladies.
