Since Tuesday, 16th June, our Kids First & Junior Section have been very active following the RFU Return to Play protocols from Stage B through to Stage C on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings. Our coaches have put in a great effort to ensure we made available meaningful training activities to support fitness, core skills, conditioning and more recently Ready4Rugby (a format of Touch Rugby).

During the installation of Invesco Turf, the club has received support from Henley Royal Regatta in providing permission to utilise the riverside pitches throughout June, July and August. We are very grateful for this support to enable our players to keep active and help their wellbeing by meeting friends within a safe and enjoyable environment.

On Friday 28th August, the club received notification from the RFU of the move from Stage C to Stage D on the Return to Rugby Roadmap (please click on the following link for more information; RFU - Stage D). Therefore, for this coming Sunday, we will move to Stage D when we resume KF&J training for U6’s to Colts within agreed phased timeslots to ensure we remain within our Covid-19 site and clubhouse limits.

Stage D permits non-contact Ready4Rugby activity. Please click on the following link for a more detailed playing guide; Ready 4 Rugby - Playing Guide final.pdf and also by watching this video. Along with Ready4Rugby activity, there is a limited range of adapted contact activities for groups of up to 6 players within a maximum time period of 15 minutes.

The full Henley RFC Parent and Player Code of Conduct & Timetable can be found by clicking on the following link; Parent Player Code of Conduct 920.pdf. Please take time to familiarise yourself with these arrangements. The time slots for this weekend can be found here; KF&J Training Slots (06-09).xlsx

Under the RFU Return to Rugby – Stage D the training durations are revised as follows:

Under 6 to Under 8’s – 60 minutes maximum

Under 9’s and above – 75 minutes maximum

All of our plans are in accordance with the RFU guidance on Restarting Competitive Grassroots Rugby. Please read more information on this here; RFU - Restarting-Competitive-Grassroots - v1 - 07.08.2020.pdf

The full risk assessment document that covers the KF&J return to play can be viewed here; HRFC - KF&J - RTR - Stage D - RA - Sep 2020.pdf

We have a reduced capacity limit of 80 individuals within the clubhouse and a total of 250 in total on site. Food will be available in the Clubhouse, but social distancing measures are in place. Please be patient when using the clubhouse and catering facilities, as we maintain a Covid-19 secure facility.

The Club Shop will operate online until further notice. More information can be found here
