With the Tiger Turf scheduled to be replaced in May with a new state-of-the-art 4G surface, we are asking all members to help raise funds for the refurbishment of this valuable community asset.
The Tiger Turf has become a hugely important facility for the Henley area, not only to every playing member of Henley RFC, but also to the wider community with various schools, organisations and sports teams all benefiting from it.
As part of the funding for this project, we are asking all members to generously contribute, either by making a donation, or by purchasing tickets to our Club raffle, in which we have secured some fantastic prizes. Tickets are now available to purchase from the Club office at £25 for a book of 5 tickets, or £5 per ticket. Tickets will also be distributed to all Kids First & Juniors teams, and all playing members in the coming weeks.
The Tiger Turf was first installed back in 2004 and was meant to be in place for 10 years. It’s fair to say that it has done incredibly well to last this long, but in recent months it has begun to show signs of wear and tear, so it’s replacement to a new 4G surface is well overdue. We hope that once this project is completed, it will become an even greater facility, and one that will continue to benefit Henley and it’s surrounding area for the foreseeable future.
Work is anticipated to begin in mid-May, with this taking approximately 4-6 weeks before it will be open to the public. The details of the Grand Draw evening for the Club raffle will be made available in due course.
