In a pioneering move for the sport, Henley Rugby Club’s Women’s team has announced an exciting new partnership with Tigers Eye, a specialist sports bra company dedicated to women’s athletic health and performance. This marks the first partnership of its kind within rugby, putting the spotlight on an often overlooked yet essential aspect of women's sports — breast health and proper support.
The initiative kicked off in earnest at Tuesday’s training session, where all players were professionally measured and fitted by Tigers Eye representatives. Each athlete received two high-performance sports bras, tailored to their individual needs, alongside an educational session on breast health, bra fit, and injury prevention.
Championing Women’s Needs in Sport
Tigers Eye, a female-founded and female-led company, was created with a mission to empower women by providing high-quality, biomechanically tested sports bras that deliver both comfort and performance. The brand has earned a reputation for combining cutting-edge research with a deep understanding of women’s bodies — especially in high-impact sports like rugby.
Tigers Eye aims to break down the stigma around breast discomfort in sport and address the shocking statistic that over 80% of women wear the wrong size sports bra. Their work goes beyond apparel — they are driving a broader movement around boob health awareness in sport, aiming to prevent long-term tissue damage, discomfort, and performance loss caused by poor support.
Leading the Way in Rugby
Henley Women’s partnership with Tigers Eye sets a new benchmark for women's rugby, being the first rugby team to formalise a partnership focused on sports bra provision and breast health education. With player welfare increasingly in focus across the sporting world, this initiative is a welcome and necessary step toward greater inclusivity and care for female athletes.
"We’re incredibly proud to be leading the way in prioritising the specific needs of women in rugby," said Lisa Tavinor. "This partnership with Tigers Eye isn’t just about kit — it’s about performance, confidence, and long-term wellbeing. We are keen to see the difference it’s making, both physically and mentally for our players"
A New Standard for the Game
As the women's game continues to grow in visibility and participation, this partnership could be a catalyst for similar initiatives across clubs nationwide. With more attention being paid to athlete health and performance innovation, Henley and Tigers Eye are proving that small details — like the right sports bra — can make a big difference.
Henley Women’s next fixture is on 5th October against North Bristol at home, and they’ll be taking the field supported by Tigers Eye — in more ways than one.
