Spire Healthcare partners with Henley RFC to support community wellbeing and local sport

Spire Healthcare is delighted to announce a new sponsorship partnership with Henley RFC, supported jointly by Spire Dunedin Hospital in Reading and Spire Thames Valley Hospital in Wexham, near Gerrards Cross, and Spire Clinics. The collaboration strengthens Spire’s ongoing commitment to supporting local sport and promoting community health across the Thames Valley region.

Henley RFC, founded in 1930 and now competing in National League 2 East, has long been recognised for its deep community ties, development pathways and strong local support. The new partnership will see Spire Healthcare championing the club’s efforts both on and off the field, with a particular focus on wellbeing, performance and community engagement.

The partnership compliments the club’s existing access to physiotherapy and rehabilitation support through Physiolistics, a well established physiotherapy provider in Henley, who are partnered with Spire Healthcare and the physiotherapy provider for Spire Dunedin Hospital, Reading.

Tania Terblanche, Hospital Director at Spire Dunedin Hospital, said:

“This partnership reflects Spire Healthcare’s wider commitment to supporting the communities we serve. Across the Thames Valley, we’re proud to champion organisations that encourage active, healthy lifestyles, and Henley Hawks is a great example of that. We’re dedicated to making a positive difference for local people both on and off the field.”

Sue Holliday, Hospital Director at Spire Thames Valley Hospital, added:

“Henley Hawks is a club rooted in community spirit, and supporting local sport is an important part of how we engage with the people we serve. We’re delighted to partner with the Hawks and look forward to a successful, community driven season together.”

A welcome addition to the Hawks family

The partnership marks an exciting chapter for both organisations, built on shared values of health, wellbeing and community investment. Together, Spire Healthcare and Henley Hawks RFC aim to create meaningful benefits for players, supporters and residents across the region.

Henley RFC Chairman, Chris Nixon welcomed the partnership, highlighting the positive impact on the club:

“We’re thrilled to bring Spire Healthcare, along with Spire Dunedin and Spire Thames Valley, into the Hawks family. Having the support of respected local hospitals reinforces our commitment to player welfare, performance and community engagement. With continued access to physiotherapy support through Physiolistic, this partnership further strengthens the resources around our club as we look ahead to future seasons.”
